Tannenfels Carlshafen - History

The brewery Tannenfels was founded in 1853.
1898 a boiler (serial number 1575 made by Gebr. Wolf from Erfurt) was installed to enable the production of steam beer.
Shards of bottles have been found, indicating that beer has been brewed for the following breweries s well:

Gräflich von Mengersen'sche Dampfbrauerei, Rheder
Brauerei Hermann Krekeler, Höxter

In the early thirties of the twentieth century the brewery was closed down and was acquired by mill owner Malzfeldt from Saarstedt.
The building was now used as a blacksmith shop and an automobile repair shop.
1949 a gas station selling "OLEX" brand petrol from Hannover was added.
